Sowdeswari's
Story
At the young age of 5, on a fateful evening while Sowdeswari was playing
with her friends, a stone accidentally hit her face. There was profuse
bleeding from her eyes. Her father, an illiterate villager gave her
some native treatment.
The trauma had initiated gradual formation of Cataract. At the age
of 12, her teacher informed her parents that Sowdeswari was not able
to see through her right eye.

She was brought to one of the routine Sankara Eye Hospital outreach
camps. Her operation, a cataract removal with an intra ocular implant,
was a success! Today Sowdeswari has been assured of a bright future.
