The SEF half Marathon is a 10 week training program geared for both beginners and experienced runners. Our coach Rajeev Patel feels just anybody with any fitness level can join this program and can achieve the goal of 13.1 miles.
SEF training program has been running since last year and more than 60 runners have been successful in completing the program. You can do it too!

This training program is open to all regardless of age and fitness level. Our coaches will ensure that just about anybody can run and complete the half marathon. The training schedule consists of 3 weekday runs and 1 weekend long run for about 10 weeks. The group meets up 3 times a week in Sunnyvale Baylands park for weekday runs and starts with a 1 mile run for beginners. The group experiences all kinds of green trails and hills during the weekend. Our coach Rajeev is very experienced in training and makes sure that the group maintains its tempo and enthusiasm about running all the time.
During the first couple of miles group run, coaches will help you identify a comfortable running pace and place you in a “pace group” with other runners who have the same level of conditioning. The group training runs will gradually increase in distance as you build up your endurance. Each long run should be done at a comfortable and relatively slow “training pace”. A slow training pace, with occasional walk breaks, will allow your body to recover quickly and reduce your risk of injury.
