Pallavi Sriram

Pallavi Sriram has been learning Carnatic vocal music from the early age of 5 from Latha Sriram, her mother. She has also been receiving training from her grandfather Sri R.Rajagopalan. She along with her brother, Sidharth Sriram, gave a highly acclaimed full length concert in February 2003. Pallavi gave concerts in Chennai during the summer of 2001 and 2002, and 3 concerts during the 2002 December music season. She performed for the Lotus organization, in the Bay Area, in October 2002 and on SIFA Day in 1999. She has been performing at various Bay Area cultural events and temples since 1993. She has also performed in Sri Lalitha Gana Vidyalaya’s numerous productions. Pallavi has been participating in the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana and has won prizes there.

Pallavi has been learning Bharata Natyam from an early age of 5. She had her dance arangetram in September 2003. Pallavi takes art and painting lessons and plans to have an art exhibition in her senior year. She writes poetry and has had her poems published locally. She is currently a Junior at Mission San High School and took a summer course at Stanford University in 2003 and will be taking a course at Brown University in the summer of 2004. She has been selected for the National Merit Scholarship.



 

 

Anuradha Sridhar

Anuradha Sridhar is the daughter and disciple of violinist Srimathi Brahmanandam and the niece of the violin maestro Lalgudi Sri G. Jayaraman. Anuradha began her training in music at very young age and since her first duet with her mother at the age of twelve, has rendered with her mother several violin duet concerts in reputed sabhas in India, USA, UK, Canada and Singapore. She is known for her flawless techniques and creativity. Anuradha is a sought after accompanist for over decades now by leading artists and has numerous concerts to her credit. She has been awarded best violinist over the years six times by the prestigious Madras Music Academy for her outstanding accompaniment.  Anuradha has toured several universities in the USA and UK for lecture demonstrations and for propagating Carnatic Music. Anuradha runs a music school in San Jose, CA where she gives rigorous training to selective students in Vocal and Violin lessons.  Some of her senior students are outstanding performers in the region. Anuradha is also credited with releasing the first animated CD-ROM on Saint Thyagaraja which is a full length animated movie about the Saint’s life and philosophies.  The CD-Rom has received acclaimed reviews. To draw more public attention to this CD Rom Anuradha stage a multimedia Show on Thyagaraja first in San Jose. The Show was so captivating repeat shows have been staged in cities of US and also of India.

Anuradha has an MBA from US.  She is also a Certified Public Accountant


 

Natarajan Srinivasan

Natarajan Srinivasan learnt mrudangam from Coimbatore Shri.Ganapathy for about 8 years. Natarajan moved to the bay area in 1995 after his graduation from Arizona State University. Since then, he has been a regular performer in carnatic music concerts in the bay area and in other western US states such as Utah and Arizona. Natarajan has accompanied senior artists such as Shri.Ravikiran, Smt.Neela Ramgopal, Smt.Meena Subramaniam and Shri.R.K.Shriramkumar. Natarajan has also accompanied many accomplished artists of the bay area on numerous occasions. Natarajan constantly seeks to embellish his concerts with engaging and encouraging accompaniment. Natarajan has been teaching mrudangam for the last four years. Natarajan is indebted to his parents Padma and Srinivasan and his wife Viji for their encouragement and support
