• Sankara Eye Hospital, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh was inaugurated on 1st
March 2004 with the active support of the TANA Foundation, Sankara Eye
Foundation USA and philanthropic families in Guntur and near by areas.
• The human resource in terms of Doctors and paramedics identified
from Guntur – Vijayawada region of Andhra Pradesh underwent intensive
training and orientation for over an year at the Mission Head Quarters
in Coimbatore and Sankara Eye Hospital, Guntur is ably managed by
them.
• Under the able guidance of our CEO, Dr. Maj. Gen. Mohan Chander, the
hospital performed over 10,000 free eye surgeries.
• Paying patients are also being attracted by the high quality of
service – a conscious exercise to take the institution to a state of
self sufficiency.
Having established Sankara Eye Hospital in Guntur on a firm footing,
we are now poised to take up the second phase of construction and
infrastructure development which is now a felt need.
