Dr. Indu Mayakrishnan

Dr. Indu Mayakrishnan is a board-certified neurologist and sleep medicine specialist. She has been a volunteer serving the Dallas chapter of Sankara Eye Foundation since 2016. Over the years, she has actively participated in numerous fundraising events, driven by a strong conviction to raise awareness about the challenges of blindness in India and inspire people to contribute toward this noble cause.

Her passion lies in working closely with youth volunteers, guiding and motivating them to practice altruism and create meaningful, lasting change in society. Volunteering at Sankara Eye Foundation is, for her, a spiritual journey that provides a valuable opportunity for personal growth, helping individuals discover their true purpose in life and manifest divinity within themselves.

She is deeply inspired by SEF's extraordinary social impact, which extends far beyond restoring vision to profoundly transforming the lives of underserved communities. The organization promotes economic self-sufficiency while working to break the cycle of poverty and renew dignity for countless individuals. Furthermore, it has removed barriers to women’s education and empowered many women to become vision care technicians, contributing to a more progressive and inclusive society.

She feels truly humbled and honored to be part of this noble organization in its mission to eradicate curable blindness and help create a Blindfree India.
