About a year ago, Mr. Mohanrao’s eyesight began to deteriorate. Despite having already undergone a cataract surgery in his left eye, his vision continued to trouble him. Simple, familiar tasks became frightening. He felt unsure, and the work he once performed as a daily wager, confidently, now felt unsafe. Each passing day pushed him further away from earning his livelihood with dignity.
As his eyesight worsened, Mohanrao found it increasingly difficult to continue working. Poor vision made physical labor dangerous, and his family began to suffer as their income declined. Anxiety and helplessness took over with worries about supporting his family.
Hope arrived through his neighbours, who encouraged him to visit the free eye screening camp organized by Sankara Eye Hospital at Reddygudem. With renewed courage, he attended the camp, where doctors examined him and assured him that surgery could restore his sight.
That assurance turned into a life-changing reality. After undergoing surgery at Sankara Eye Hospital in Guntur, Mohanrao’s vision improved, bringing clarity back into his world.
During his stay, he experienced medical care with compassion – through the food provided, the attention of the staff, and the kindness with which he was treated.
Today, Mohanrao sees clearly once again. He has returned to work as a daily laborer, earning his livelihood with confidence and pride. More than restored vision, the treatment gave him back his independence, self-respect, and the joy of once again being able to provide for his family. For Mohanrao, Sankara Eye Hospital in Guntur gave him more than sight. It restored hope and dignity.
Mohanrao’s journey is a powerful reminder that when we heal an eye, we don’t just restore sight—we restore a life.
